Well I'm guessing HP has forgotten me because no one has ever gotten back to me since last week. I don't want to buy a new printer because this one works just fine. I need to try with my laptop to see if it does the same thing.

This is a great location to get assistance! I read your post and see that you printer is not printing in color. I would like to help you resolve this issue.
I understand that you want to print from your laptop to check if it prints fine, correct me if I am wrong.
However, I will need a few details to provide an accurate solution,
- How is the printer connected to the computer.(USB or Wireless)?
- Which operating system is installed on the computer?
Reply with the result of the above-mentioned steps, for further assistance.
Cheers.
