Hi @lodu,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
If your tablet says “HP printer isn’t available right now” but your wife’s iPad prints fine, the issue is likely with the connection between your tablet and the printer, not the printer itself.
Quick Fix Steps
1. Check Wi-Fi Connection
- Make sure your tablet is on the same Wi-Fi network as the printer.
- If your tablet is on mobile data or a different network (like a guest network), it won’t see the printer.
2. Restart Devices
- Restart your tablet.
- Restart the printer.
- Restart your Wi-Fi router if possible.
3. Forget and Re-add the Printer
- On your tablet, go to Settings > Printers (or in the app you’re printing from).
- Remove the HP printer.
- Re-add it using AirPrint or the HP app.
4. Update HP App
- Open the HP App – For HP Printers, Laptops, and Tech Accessories | HP® Official Site.
- Search for the HP app and update it if needed.
5. Check Printer Status
- On the printer’s control panel, confirm it shows Connected to Wi-Fi.
- If not, reconnect using the Wireless Setup Wizard.
