Purchased a use printer, do i still get warranty?

I purchased a used Hp Deskjet 3750 printer, i checked the warranty online and it still has 9 months left, does this need to be transferred over to my name or do they just read serial number? want to know from people who have purchased used printers and done the same/similar.

Your printer is covered with a warranty no matter you are the 2nd or 3rd owner, the warranty is determined by proof of purchase or serial number.
