I recently purchased this printer and am having trouble setting it up . When I try to connect it using the USB connection I get a message telling me that the USB3 port on my laptop will not support the cable supplied with the printer.
In fact I prefer to use it wirelessly but when I try to set up using WiFi Direct the system asks me for an 8 digit PIN number which is not the same as the 8 digit password The WiFi Direct guide tells me that a unique PIN number is generated each time connection is attempted, however I cannot get this PIN number to achieve connection. The guide also states that if a PIN number is required the printer will print it out along with additional instructions when you attemp to connect. This does not happen. Advice please.

Hi,
You should not use any Wireless Direct PIN to connect the printer wirelessly if you have a router at your home.
If you have a router, restore the netowrk settings by holding both the WiFi and Cancel buttons on the printer for 3 seconds till the power light blinks.
Next restart the printer and reinstall the printer software by selecting a wireless connection, then follow the steps on screen.
If you do need to get the WiFi Direct code for any reson such as not having a router at home press and hold both the WiFi and the Information buttons to print a Network configuration report which also include a WiFi Diret section with these details.

Thanks Shlomi, I had realised that the wifi direct was effectively being blocked by the broadband router at home. I purchased this small printer to use in my caravan when we are away on archaeological digs in the UK and Europe. I have a mobile wifi hotspot which is used for phone and internet but as I am at present in New Zealand and the caravan is on my drive in the UK I am not certain if things will link up easily. We are away for weeks at a time and often documents that we could do with having with us have to stack up on the laptops until we get home to my printer. I can get the printer home in my case but the caravan is too big for my carry-on bag!!
