I recently changed broadband provider and printer no longer prints from my iPad.  The blue wireless light is flashing on the printer.  I tried pressing the WPS button on the router but that hasn't helped.  How do I get printing again? I don't have a laptop to connect via USB port to reconfigure directly.

You may have to connect via WPS method to your router.  If not you will need a Printer USB cable and your computer to connect and set up your printer to the router.

Blue wireless light blinking means you are not connected to your routers SSID with valid password.

Replacing/changing your wireless router, try here.

http://www.hp.com/global/au/en/wireless/reconfiguring-system-help3.html

Make sure your router is set to a fixed wireless channel like 1, 6 or 11, never ‘auto’.  Try channel 1 first then the others one at a time.  Make sure printer and router are at least 5 feet apart.

Make and model of modem and router?

However if you have a Gateway (modem+router) device, all Gateway devices are terrible for wireless connectivity.   If this does not work, suggest you put that gateway device in full bridge mode and install your own high quality router that YOU have full control over.

Thanks for the reply but it doesn't make sense to me.  Do I need to change the channel on my router? How? How do I reconfigure the printer when it's not connecting with the iPad? Catch 22!

Thank you but I can't see instructions for people who only have iPads and therefore can't plug their printer into a USB port

Thank you!  Took me a while to find the info that I had   "Press AND HOLD the blue wireless button on the printer for 3 seconds before pressing the WPS button on the router!  All working fine now.  Thanks again

Then you have to use the WPS method like I said.

The above is just fine.  However the router has to see the printer first in order to get an IP address.  That was the OPs issue.  Once and IP is given to the printer then you can add it to your OS.
