If the printer is already connected to your network then you need to use the HP Smart app on your smart device.

You answer sounds like if I have a visitor and they want to print something, that I would need to have them get an app? The printer should show up in the available WiFi selection (it does), then you should be able to select it and have that printer populate to the print page. However, when I select it, the next thing it asks for is a password ? It should simply do a green check mark and populate in the print screen? Right?

Wireless connection -> If the smart device and the printer are already on the same wireless network then you need to use HP Smart app

Wireless direct connection -> If you want to use a wi-fi direct then you can find instructions in the user manual.

It's explained in the user manual difference between wi-fi and wi-fi direct.

p.s. If you have a guest and you provide them with your wireless password the guest can use the HP Smart app to connect and use your printer.
