Officejet 7110

Cannot enable web services on HP Officejet 7110.

Tried all the usual suggestions, reset printer, reset router, set maual IP address, set manual DNS, etc.

Printer works flawlessley in either 802.3 or 802.11 mode. IP v4 enabled, v6 disabled.  Can ping and print from any computer using any operating system on the local network, but not able to make connection to HP servers and enable web services.

Messages say "Checking for Server Connection and Printer Update. This process may take several minutes."

Then changes to "Enabling Web Services. This process may take several minutes."

It then fails and drops back the the "Web services is not enabled" Try again screen.

After doing this several times it displays the "you have exceed the maximum allowed number of attemps. Turn off the printer and try again in an hour.

Which of course start the whole failing process again.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for trying to help.

I had tried all of the suggestions that have been offered previously with no success. I did solve the problem in a way that might be helpful to other users.

One of the consequences of not being able to enable web services is that you also cannot use that method to update the printers firmware. When I checked support, there was no firmware update shown with the driver software for my OS. I then looked under every version of every OS and did find a firmware update for use with Windows 10.  I downloaded this, updated the printers firmware manually and was instantly able to get web services running.

All is good now.
