hp envy 7645
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

When trying to print shows offline error message. Under settings-devices-printers it has 3 entries.  1st one is FAX - HP Envy 7640 series (Network) Not connected. 2nd one is HP Envy 7640 series (Network) Last used offline. 3rd one is HP Envy 7640 series (Network) Last used, Driver is unavailable. The only one that it will allow me to set as default is the 1st one.  So I am to assume the other two are set as default which is confusing as I thought only one could be selected.  Also I am using a wireless router which I am connected to by the printer per the readouts on the printer screen. Router also shows connected to printer. Any help on this would be appreciated.

Thanks for your reply unfortunately I had already run through that with no luck. I should have stated that the first time but was reaching my frustration threshold.  That is when I found the 3 entries for the printer. I even used the hp scan doctor a couple of times. It had stated some software was missing which I had it download. Still no luck. Since the time you had responded and now the PC has had updates (not sure what they were) but seems  some cosmetic changes have occured. HP support assistance did show 2 errors after the downloads which wanted me to run HP scan doctor again. So I did which said I was missing some software AGAIN so I let it download them. This time it said my NET share was turned off and my printer would not work in that condition so I had the program turn it on and now it is working. I am beginning to think that was the whole problem all along.

Thank you for taking the time to respond.

I might be able to help you.

Go to this direct download link to HP 7645 basic driver.

It was updated after the full featured software was. Once it downloads, install, then see if your printer is now the Active default.

Here is the link:

Hope this helped you!

How long should this take? Downloaded it about two hours ago, still 'Installing Network Device'.
