When printing from ipad pro or iphone 6 (ios 11.3), the only options that appear for paper size are 4 x 6 and 5 x 7. How can I add option for 8 x 10, or make it the default? I can print, but the documents turn out to be too small.

Hi @mvjudy,
Thanks for taking an interest in the HP Support Forums! This is a great location to get resolutions and interact with experts from the community. I came across your post and wanted to assist you. I understand that you are trying to print from your iPad / iPhone and is having issues. Don't worry as I have a few suggestions which should help you resolve this issue.
Hard reset on the printer, router, computer and other devices on the same network.
The following steps temporarily disconnect network and Internet connections and require restarting your computer. Complete any tasks or downloads in progress before continuing.
1. Press the Power button on the printer to turn it off.
2. Disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
3. Disconnect the power cord from the wireless router.
4. Turn off the computer.
5. Wait for 30 seconds.
6. Reconnect the power cord to the wireless router.
7. Wait for 30 seconds, or until the router is fully on and ready
8. Turn the computer back on.
9. Wait for the computer to reload
10. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
11. Turn the printer back on.
Let's try installing the HP Smart app (Previously HP AiO Remote app) to print from your iOS device. Go to Apple Store and install the HP Smart app on your iOS device.
I found a wonderful document which will give you instructions on how to use this app. Please go through the steps here: http://hp.care/2sl1E5V
If the app is already installed, uninstall and reinstall the app and check.
Please let me know if this resolves the issue, or if you require further assistance.
Let me know if those steps worked for you.
If they did, that’s awesome!
Give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,
That’ll help us and others see that we’ve got the answers!
Good Luck.

Hello Mvjudy,
I don't have any apple devices, so all I can do is suggest that you look for Print Dialog or Print Options. You actually should work from the program that has your photo/document - such as a Word Processing program (It's MS Word in my world). Maybe you have a photo program - such as Photoshop or it's equivalent in apple.
Is there a "Paper/Quality" setting in which to click "Advanced" setting? In that you could select "Paper Size" and click on whichever you choose. In Win 10 there are numerous choices such as 8x10, letter (8.5 x 11), etc. The dialog is part of the 5660 software, so I would expect you would find such. Also note when you select color or B&W it sets that as default.
Since you mention 8x10 (possibly for color photos), make sure you set the paper size the same, wherever you see it.
Also select the Photo- borderless, or Photo-bordered shortcut.
Please let me know if you find that type of settings, for my future reference about apple devices.

Hello again mvjudy,
I find lots about HP Air Print capabilities of the 5660 printer by google searching. Not many searching for "Apple Support Printing with HP Smart app." Search for some with videos. Jeet_Singh apparently advises that HP Smart is better than HP Air Print capabilities for your 5660 printer.
Here's one link, in which the illustration included below shows "Color and Quality" and "Paper" - the latter likely has many settings for you to set paper size and paper type. Look at the screen shots.
Someone using apple needs to tell you how to set default.

Good luck.

Thanks - but I didn't have to go through all that. It turned out that when I remove the paper tray, there is a message on the printer display regarding change of paper size. Somehow it was on the "wrong" size, and I was able to change it to letter size. From that time on, the option also appeared on my ipad and iphone when printing from there, and all is fine!! Thank you for your ideas!

Thank you. I had already gone through those steps to no avail. I phoned HP support but they were unsure as well. The problem resolved when I removed the paper tray; then the printer displayed a message about changing paper size. Somehow it had been on 5 x 7, and I was then able to change it to letter size.
From then on, the letter size option appeared on my ipad and iphone, and I was able to print in letter size from those devices.
The HP tech rep insisted that the printer settings and my device settings were completely separate, but that was apparently not true.

Hello mvjudy,
You are entirely correct. "the printer settings and my device settings were completely separate, but that was apparently not true"
In Win 10 at least, on the computer, the Print Dialog that opens in a MS word document or dialog for printing from a photo are entirely part of the printer's software, which is on the computer. So they have to be integrated, I would guess. Bye.
