Hi @Chids,

Welcome to HP Forums, this is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.

Thank you for posting your query. I'll be more than glad to help you.

I understand that you are facing issues with turning on web services for your HP printer.

Let's go through a few steps that may help to fix this issue.

And here are a few steps in the link to turn on Web Services: Turning On Web Services

Also, let us know the model number of the printer that you are using.

Let me know if this works.

You have a good day ahead.

The Printer is a Laaser Jet Pro MFP M127fw.

When I try to enable web services, having accepted the terms of use, all I get is the hp logo and the word "connecting... " beneath.  I have tried waiting for 30 minutes without any success.

I have :-

Checked the wifi connection - good

Reset the printer to factory settings

Set the correct date and time

The present status:

IP Address is 192.168.007.153

Subnet Mask is 255.255.255.000

Default gateway is 192.168.007.001

IPv4 is on

IPv6 is off

Preferred DNS is set to 8.8.8.8

Alternate DNS is set to 8.8.4.4

Any help you can provide would be appreciated

Hi @Chids,

As I understand you have followed the steps suggested and still having the issue. Don't worry as I have a few suggestions which should help you resolve this issue.

Let's first try and disable the IPv6 and assign a static IP address which will help you fix this issue. Please check the steps below:

•    Obtain the IP address of the printer – You can touch the “wireless” icon on the printer control panel to get the IP address.

•    Type the IP address on your web browser to obtain the printer EWS page on your computer.

•    Go to "Network" tab - General - Select "Network protocols" - Select "Enable IPv4 only" (or similar) - Apply the settings.

•    Go to the “Network” tab – Click on “Wireless (802.11) – Then click on “Network address (IPv4)

•    Click on the radio button which says “Manual IP” and then click “Suggest a manual IP address” to give a manual IP address to your printer.

•    Click on radio button which says “Manual DNS Server” and under manual preferred type 8.8.8.8 and under manual alternate type 8.8.4.4 (This is Google DNS server address)

If the issue persists, I would suggest you follow the steps suggested in the support document for - HP Printers - Cannot Connect to Web Services

Let me know how that goes. Good luck!

Cheers
