Hi @BlancheG,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
When setting up a wireless printer using Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS), you may be prompted to enter a WPS PIN. The WPS PIN is a security code that helps establish a secure connection between your printer and your computer. Here's how you can find the WPS PIN for your HP Envy 6000 printer.
- Check the printer's control panel: On the HP Envy 6000 printer, there should be a small display panel or an LED screen. Look for a WPS button or an information icon. Press the button or access the information menu to find the WPS PIN. It may be labeled as the "PIN" or "Wireless PIN."
- Check the printer's documentation: Refer to the user manual or setup guide that came with your HP Envy 6000 printer. The WPS PIN is often provided in the documentation. Look for a section that explains the wireless setup process or the WPS feature.
- Generate a new WPS PIN: If you cannot find the WPS PIN using the above methods, you can generate a new one. Follow these steps.
a. Make sure your printer is turned on and connected to your Wi-Fi network.
b. On your computer, open a web browser and type in the IP address of your printer. You can usually find the IP address by printing a network configuration page from the printer's control panel.
c. Once you access the printer's web interface, navigate to the "Network" or "Wireless" settings.
d. Look for an option related to WPS and click on it. There should be an option to generate a new WPS PIN.
e. The printer will generate a new WPS PIN, which you can use to connect your computer to the printer.
Remember that the process may vary slightly depending on the exact model of your HP Envy 6000 printer.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Thank you for your response. Unfortunately my model does not have a display.
I tried pressing what I think is a WPS button and it is now working. Problem I have now is that having printed something successfully when I go back the printer is offline. The only way to solve it is to run the troubleshooter which clears the spooler. I hope I don't have to do this everytime I want to print something. Advice please!
