Indeed, Skype proved to be the app that triggers this process to go crazy like that.

However, uninstalling Skype is not in any way a solution, I use it for business every day, calls, conferences, etc.

This issue HAS to be fixed ASAP,  it's a disgrace to HP. So much time has passed and they have been ignoring it like it's no big deal.

Same problem here (Spectre x360 13" from about a year ago).

Happens several times a day.

Reading through this and other support threads doesn't exactly leave me hopeful for a fix.

Same problem on my ae-t000 version Spectre x360. Has been happening since I bought last year and none of the suggested fixes here or anywhere else on the web help

I tried this as well, I spend 50 minutes on the phone with HP Australia all to no avail.  Their only advice was: " Your (HP) notebook isn't compatible with Skype, so best to uninstall Skype if you don't want such high CPU usuage".  I was flabbergasted!  I need to use both Skype & my HP notebook every day!!  As at July 2019 still no fix from HP!!!

That is the stupidest reply from the so-called support I've ever seen!!!

Maybe HP should start printing a disclaimer on their laptops "Caution! Not compatible with Skype"

Complete nonsense.
