Hi, working on a friend's laptop for her. As I understand her son put an administrator password on the BIOS does not remember it

 I'm just looking at the laptop now so I've got the covers taken off and just got a peek at the motherboard it looks like everything is fine the laptop motherboard number is  NV 36765-001 is there a possibility this motherboard has a jumper or is it something I need to key in a hold code for? Is there somebody that can give me that halt code?

Unfortunately, you will need to contact an HP agent for problems with BIOS passwords.

Here is HP's official policy regarding BIOS passwords:

 

According to the Community's Rules of Participation:

 

4d. No posts shall include instructions/directions intended to bypass or subvert security mechanisms such as lock screens, BitLockers, BIOS lock, passwords, fingerprint/biometry scanners, PINs, or any other safety measures.

 

Therefore, this topic is being locked. If you would like help resetting the password on your product, please Contact HP support in your region.
