I just read through the Maintenence & Support guide that includes your notebook.

It appears that I misread it and missed the statement which says that PCIe minicard SSD types are compatible with it.

So  the PCI Express (3rd Gen) M.2 SSD format is compatible with your notebook.

I assumed it was compatible because it works, except boot ... No tech has ever encountered this issue?

Check your warranty status Here.hat do the other OSes use? Grub?

I suppose you could remove the legacy hard disk, put a bootable OS on the M.2 SSD and press power to see if it will boot.

I tried it too, with Windows bootloader, cloverbootloader and nothing. Manually with "bootvfrom efi file works, but auto not.

Did you try formatting the SSD in GPT format before installing an OS?

What do you mean by" tried it too, with Windows bootloader, cloverbootloader and nothing.Manually with "bootvfrom efi file works, but auto not. "?

Have you done what I suggested in my previous post?

Excuse my English, is an automatic translator I wanted to say yes, I already did what you suggested. Not only with Windows OS but also with linux without result. For all this I am more and more convinced that there is a limitation in the Bios.

I supose you could call it a limitation.

It appears that with your notebook model there was simply no intent to use an M.2 SSD as a boot drive.

Exactly, my main intention when opening the thread was to see if someone with the same notebook had managed to boot from the m.2. Thank you for your help and interest. We leave the thread open in case someone with new information appears, a greeting!

I just talked to HP Support and they have confirmed that the m.2 disk can not be used as a primary hard drive. Since it is a strictly software limitation I would like to request from here, if someone reads to us that works for HP, they would launch a BIOS update that would add the option "boot from m.2" Greetings and thanks.
