hi all,
would you know whether Pavilion laptop (bc009tx) supports z27x / or other 4k monitor and if 10 bit colour depth will be available in adobe apps. The laptop has HDMI v2.0 port if im not mistaken, intel hd graphics 530, however it also comes with gforce 690M card which doesn't allow 10 bits in adobe apps and resolution above 3840.
Thanks a lot!

Hi @skalmanus,
Thank you for your super quick response. I was away on my weekend and could not respond right away. I have reviewed your post comprehensively. The product specifications of the machine are clear. Link: http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05313980
The graphics card is integrated and it may not support 4K monitors. Besides, I will include the service manual of the unit for further assistance: http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04427554
It supports Full HD monitors and not 4K ones. Please visit Page 2 for more information regarding this. However, it may work with 4K monitors given the fact some 4K monitors are backward compatible and work with Full HD outputs also. However, the desired output would not be 4K resolution but Full HD which is 1920 X 1080p.
As for the other question about Quadro cards, the compatible support graphics card for intel and AMD processors are given in the service manual. Please visit pages 24,25, 27,28 and 29 for compatible video cards, that are supported. This is the complete list of supported graphics cards for the computer based on the type of processor involved.
Please try to acquire an external graphics card that supports 4K monitor resolution as a workaround. Please consult a local technician and ascertain that it is supported before considering it.
Hope this helps. Let me know how this goes. I genuinely hope the issue gets resolved without hassles and the unit works great. Please reach out for any issues and I'll be there to assist you.
To simply say thanks, please click the "Thumbs Up" button to give me a Kudos to appreciate my efforts to help. If this helps, please mark this as “Accepted Solution” as it will help several others with the same issue to get it resolved without hassles.
Take care now and have a splendid week ahead.

Unable to uninstall HP Cool sense. Is that right?
Thank you for sharing the issue details. I would like to help you.
As you right mentioned, the Video card is an intermediate gaming card which doesn’t do a lot of high-end GPU processing.
Thus creating the bottleneck for most of the video editing and photo editing apps.
For sure it will support the 4K monitor. No doubt about that. It’s a hardware limitation of the Video card itself.
Hope this helps. Let me know for more.
Happy posting.

hi, thanks for your answer! Yeah apparently for some reason nvidia reduces functionality of gforce cards 😞
my other question would be if the motherboard of the pavilion is compatible with quadro cards. Im well aware that HP has other solutions with these cards, however since i already own this machine i'm wondering. Thank you!!
