Product: ZBook G4 15
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
Hi all;
To supplement the two M.2 drives on my ZBook G4 15, I added a 500GB 2.5" SSD for local storage and VMs.
- Hardware install went fine, drive recognized, was able to format it, etc. no problem.
- I wanted to check to be sure I used GPT partition type vs. MBR using DiskPart.
- DiskPart > List Disk showed the two M.2 drives (C and D ) as GPT, but the new one showed neither GPT or MBR for the partition type
- I switched to Disk 1, and tried Convert GPT, and it was noted that "drive is CD or DVD and cannot be converted" (paraphrasing ... )
Any thoughts on how to remedy this?
Using Windows 10 Pro, 1909.
Thanks!
Tim

It does not really say it is a CD or DVD just gives that as examples. Try a "clean all" command and then reinitialize it through disk management. By default it should set it up as GUID and not MBR.
