If you use a 2nd M.2 SSD for data storage, it may carry less load than a primary drive that runs Windows and apps and hence generate less heat. So, M.2 NVMe SSDs that come with manufacturer's heatsink may work fine.

For example, this Samsung 980 Pro with a heatsink has an impressively high customer rating. The product specs say the heatsink is 8.6 mm thick. if it is the same or less than the stock heatsink's thickness, this Samsung product may fit in your notebook.

Thank you for following up. The one on eBay should fit, but it's out of stock. FYI, I bought a 2TB Samsung 990 PRO PCIe 4.0 NVMe M.2 SSD (without heatsink*) and successfully deployed it into the notebook. Without a copper cover and thermal plastic pad, the memory card did not stay flat along with the motherboard. I must use a fitting screw M2.0x2.5 to fix the position and direction of the memory card. Finally, I was able to find a suitable screw from another old notebook. Therefore, I don't need to source the original copper cover anymore. (* I did not select the model with heatsink since I could not confirm that thickness of heatsink would fit into the notebook.)
