Indeed! There are many other brands. We can spend our money on more trustable devices 🙂
I had the issue described here, too, after using the laptop for only 3 months (I have the AMD version, though). After sending it to HP to repair, they changed the motherboard and gave it back to me. After starting it, I had the same issue again. It is very strange and frustrating, to say the least, because the machine is expensive. I have an almost 2000 euros piece of plastic that does nothing and there is no real solution for the issue, it seems.

I have the same laptop. I bought it early this year from a different company that sells computers. I experienced the same problem while I was playing a game the screen switched, but the fans were still running. I took it to a repair shop, and they just managed to turn it on, but the laptop still has the same problem. I switched it off and now it doesn't switch back on. I want to return the laptop, but the problem is that I upgraded the RAM myself and they told me that would void the warranty, so my question is do I use the magnet trick you posted on Reddit or return it where I bought it? If I change the OS will I still experience the same problem or not (I get that it is a hardware problem)? If the magnet thing works, how long does it last and will I be able to play games again?

Hi, I've been reading you have helped some people through this problem, is there anywhere you have some kind of compilation of all the information you have posted for this? Thanks in advance, I will keep looking for it.

I also started facing this issue from yesterday in my HP OMEN 16 intel i7 13700HX, NVIDIA RTX 4060, purchased on Oct 2023.
I changed the option "Choose what closing the lid does" to "Do nothing" in control panel. But the keyboard and screen still turns off when I tilt the lid to around 45 degree and then does not turn on back when I tilt the lid back to viewing position. It will turn on back randomly after few minutes.
Also when I was playing a game for about an hour, screen and keyboard turned off suddenly, but the game was still running and I was able to play with external monitor and a external keyboard.
During normal tasks above issue does not exists.
It is very disappointing that a premium priced laptop having these flaws.

Hey, are you sure that the same thing'll not happen if its an AMD processor? Cuz I'm this close to buying one with Ryzen 7840 and additionally, a friend of mine told me that if the charging ports are at the back of the laptop, then it's(black screen display problem) less likely to occur.
Also, hope your troubles are long-gone by now.

Does it have back ports, like HDMI and Charger? If it does, YES you'll have problems with. Either Intel and AMD motherboards with back ports are doomed.
Removing the ribbon tho, will fix the issue permanently but laptop won't sleep once you shut the lid.
Replacing the motherboards will fix the issue temporally as it will become faulty once again. They'll give you exactly the same hardware, with back ports.
Apparently HP fixed the issue in new versions, with side ports instead (left/ right).
SELL IT, DON'T BUY IT!
