I purchased a new battery. The laptop continues to read “no battery detected”. I have tried to hold the power button then plug it in and connect the battery, but this has done nothing. I left the battery in the computer plugged into the wall for the night, but it still does not detect the battery. What have I done wrong, and how can I charge this fresh out of the box battery?

Hi. I'm not having any luck detecting my new battery for my HP Envy m6 running windows 10. I've tried removing power, battery, power down and restart. I've tried removing Microsoft ACPI-Complient Control Method Battery from device manager and restarting. I've tried resetting BIOS to default settings. I did a look for updates in the HP Support Assistant but it says there are no updates. All I can think of is that the battery is not a HP original and even though the website I bought it from says it is compatible it is not. Any ideas.

Thanks
