Hi everyone.
I purchased HP AU-134-tx on 28th Oct 2016 and got a total warranty of 3 years(after extension).My laptop battery is Non-Removable.
Recently,I figured out my laptop battery was not charging to 100%.It would stop charging at somwhere around 70%.
I contacted HP Support, they sent an engineer. He did some HP support assistant check, diagonistics etc but everywhere battery status was OK.Then he removed back panel to check the battery only to find out that the battery was somewhat swollen. He said he will mail these to his office.
2 days later, I got a reply from HP that Battery will not be replaced as SWOLLEN BATTERY ARE NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY.
I want to know is it true that swollen batteries are not covered under warranty?
Thanks in advance.

The battery warranty is never more than 1 year even if you get the extended warranty. You are within 1 year so I am not understanding. I will try to escalate and see if any help is available.

They specifically said that swollen battery are not covered under warranty.
They further added that this has happened due to overcharging the battery,so you are responsible for it.Thus,it won't be replaced.
How can be they sure that it has happened due to overcharging the battery and not some manufacturing defect.
PS:I was not overcharging the battery.

Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

You will now communicate with HP outside the Forum. For our education please come back when all handled and let us know how HP deals with this so we know whether swollen batteries are or are not covered. I have never heard they are not and been here a long time.
