HP 17.3 inch Laptop PC 17-c0000 (2W0J5AV)

The HP page says it has up to 10 hours of battery life, but I'm not even getting half, only around an hour, what can I do?

Some data: I've had the laptop for 2 years now, and seemingly had the same problem since, but battery lasted a tad bit longer, EVEN AN OLD LAPTOP FROM 5 YEARS AGO (a used 15-bs289wm) LASTS FOR MUCH LONGER THAN A PC WHICH IS WAY BETTER IN SPECS (and I confirm because when the pandemic hit, the laptop {the old one} was just bad on Windows 10, let alone 11.

OS: Arch Linux

PC: HP Laptop 17-cn0023dx

Thanks!

The same information I gave you about the battery applies to any OS that is used on your laptop's hardware.

A laptop battery "Full" charge changes over time for the very same reasons all other battery types  degrade over time.

It would have been nice to know the Linux OS, but it would not have made a difference.

You still need to replace the battery with a new one.

After two years of use, the battery is unlikely to have the same amount of ability to hold a charge as when it was new.

I must also tell you that laptop that are in the 17" format are not known for long mobile use times even when they are new.

You should run the Windows Battery report to see how much full charge is now, compared to when it was new.

If you are only getting thirty minutes mobile use time, it is time to replace the battery with a new one.

Sadly, I don't use Windows as indicated in the first post, I use Arch Linux, so I can't really do anything you told me, since it's on Windows, I'm sorry.

Ok, but will I have to open the bottom of the laptop? Because the battery isn't removeable.
