HP Chromebook 11 CB2
Chrome OS

Hi,

I have an HP Chromebook 11 CB2, which I have had for around 4 years.

It ran out of charge a couple of days ago, and now doesn't seem to pick up a charge at all - i.e. the charging light does not come on, ever after being plugged in for a number of hours.

It will not turn on, nor will any attempt to reset it (using either ctrl, alt, shift, r or using refresh and power off button.

I have tried mutliple chargers and none seem to work. I have also opened it up and removed the battery and reinserted it.

I am assuming it is an issue with the battery, or perhaps the charging port?

Firstly, is there any way to test this before buying a new battery?

Secondly, is it worth buying a new battery. Considering Chromebooks seem to last not too much more than this, it might just be worth buying a new one?

Thanks.

Thank you for joining HP Forums.

I understand that the Chromebook is not powering on, need not worry I'll be glad to assist you.

I see that there is no light when you connect the power cord, It seems like a hardware issue with the computer.

Hi Raj, I found this thread because I have the exact same problem. Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Nevermind, I found the solution here https://danw.info/hp-chromebook-11-fix-charging/

Seems like a pretty big flaw that a rundown battery requires taking the device apart, especially considering part of the removal process involves prying up double sided sticky tape

I have lost the charger for my chromebook - can I purchase one through you?
