Pavilion - product # Y1N95UA#ABA
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Thanks in advance for any help you can be with my issue.

I own an HP Pavilion laptop, product # Y1N95UA#ABA, purchased 03/01/17.

Yesterday I noticed that the keyboard was bulging upward. A bit of research tells me this is battery swelling, which is surprising given that this unit has lived a very pampered life.

(It's been used only in my home, on my desk, well ventilated,  updated regularly, utility and virus scanned frequently, turned off overnight, and never exposed to heat or cold.  I'm not a gamer or movie downloader and use it only for basic internet surfing, watching youtube videos, email, and google calendar. Like I said pampered.)

I purchased this unit based on HP's reputation for quality, but this hardware failure (and resulting eminent demise) leaves me extremely disappointed and dissatised. Surely the life span of this laptop should be more than 2.5 years, yes?

Even though it's out of warranty, will HP stand behind what's clearly a design flaw offer me a no-charge replacement? It seems reasonable that they would, and any advice you might have in that regard would be so appreciated.

Thank you, ScottyP
