HP ENVY x360 Laptop - 13-ay0008ca
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The left hinge of my HP Envy x360 laptop broke, If I close it or move it from 90 degrees, the screen pops out of the casing on the bottom left at the hinge because it is stuck in place. I think it may have broken off internally, but I'm not sure.

I know this a common problem, but since my warranty is out I do not want to pay for a obvious design flaw on the laptop. This is the second time this has happened to me. I got the hinge replaced in April 2021. Not even a year apart from a new hinge.

I've been very careful with my laptop and I do not force the lid close or anything that would cause this damage. Even after the hinge broke the first time, I thought it was somewhat of a fluke and I even convinced my sister to buy this laptop for university. I'm having my doubts about hp.

As said here: https://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Hardware-and-Upgrade-Questions/Broken-Hinge-on-Envy-x360-Conv...

> Searching the forum it appears to me that this is a design flaw in the hinge for the Envy x360 series.  I've found several posts with the exact same problem.

However a few of the above posts imply that HP may be doing something about remediation for those affected by this apparent design flaw.

I hope that I can receive a repair for this as I need it for school and am unable to purchase a new laptop at this time.
