Can I add a 2nd hard drive to my ENVY Notebook 17t-u000 CTO with 512GB hard drive or put in a larger drive?

If so ... what do I need to do it?

however I found this information for you,

your laptop support both M.2, SATA-3 solid-state drive and SATA, 7.2-mm hard drive

M.2, SATA-3 solid-state drive support both 512-GB and 256-GB

SATA, 7.2-mm hard drive support 1-TB, 5400-rpm, SATA, 7.2-mm hard drive but  The hard drive spare part kit does not include the hard drive rubber bracket ( Hard drive Caddy ) or hard drive cable.

yes,  you can add an extra hard drive. if you currently have M.2 SSD you can add an extra HDD. if you currently have a HDD you can add a M.2 SSD. follow the link I have provided for more information.

Looking via the Device Manager disk drives, it's a Samsung MZNLN512HMJP-000H1which I understand to be a  Series 512GB TLC SATA 6Gbps M.2 2280 Internal Solid State Drive (SSD).

I see the note about what the hard drive spare part kit does not include the hard drive rubber bracket ( Hard drive Caddy ) or hard drive cable, but it appears I could order those separately.

Based on your answer, it sounds like I can add a SATA 7.2mm hard drive, correct?

yes you can add SATA 7.2mm hard drive 😊

also, you can upgrade your SSD
