See page 31 and also p. 32 and 35. Page 31 shows where the hard drive is: to the left of the battery and the M.2 slot is right above the battery. It can accept either an M.2 SATA disk or M.2 NVME/PCIe disk. I recommend a Samsung PM961 NVME disk.

Above is a 256 gig version. This is the fast storage you can get and can run the OS while you use the original big, slow hard drive just for storage.

Thanks for the help, cleared my doubts . i wanted to ask if this ssd would be compatible or work fine with the laptop. And would opening and customizing the laptop void my warranty ? and  is there a 2.5 inch sata 3 bay for me to add a ssd like this.

 Cheers

The post above pretty well answers. The Evo 850 is a SATA M.2. It will work but it is much slower than an NVME/PCIe M.2 disk. I mentioned the PM961. And yes there is a 2.5 inch bay in addition to the M.2 which can hold either a hard drive or SSD. The 1 TB hard drive is in that bay. So you would have to remove the 1 TB HDD to have a 2.5 inch SATA SSD. Just one 2.5 inch bay.

Opening the laptop for upgrade does not void the warranty as long as no damage is done. If you damage it you are obviously on your own.

Would this work just as well as the Samsung PM961 NVME. Thanks

Yes that is the consumer version....might be a little slower but will also be a bit cheaper but still very, very fast.

I have just bought the  m.2 pcie nvme internal ssd for my Hp envy 15T-as133cl,(out of the box it had only a 1tb hdd) and now i  want to use the pcie instead of the hdd for boot up and operating windows, what is the easiest way to do that. Please help with the steps involved.

The easiest and fastest if the laptop is new and you are happy with a factory software install on the M.2. Before you install the M.2 use the OS from the 1 TB and the HP Recovery Manager to make a recovery flash drive. Now remove the hard drive and insert the M.2. Use the flash drive to recover the factory install to the M.2. Then you can put the 1 TB back in.

Thanks for the prompt reply, i have understood the procedure but wanted to ask if there is a way which does not involve taking out the hdd, i am still not quite acquainted with the disassembly of the laptops and still an amature, would not prefer to take out the hdd and then put it back, please help with some other alternative if any. Thankyou for the support and advise.
