Hp 17-x051nr
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)
I bought my wife a HP 17-xo51nr laptop from office Depot. It's nothing fancy, it will fulfill her needs, they problem is the battery is so small it doesn't last long. I figured no problem, I would find a compatible 6 cell battery to replace it with. I have searched the Internet and can't find a larger battery to use. Can anyone help me out? I still have a week I can take it back but I'd rather not because I have everything moved over and set up. Help?

Well, thanks for coming. You gave your model number so rather than just telling you to figure it out and call HP Support I am going to go the extra mile and provide you some actual useful information.

Your model has an external, replaceable battery. There are two options, a 3-cell which you were provided from the factory, and a 4-cell, which you could install in place of the 3-cell:

(23) Battery 4-cell, 41-Whr, 2.8-Ah Li-ion 807957-001

3-cell, 31-Whr, 2.8-Ah Li-ion 807956-001

The 4-cell is available from the HP parts Store online for $45 plus shipping and you can pay by credit card and have them ship it to you:

https://parts.hp.com/hpparts/Search_Results.aspx?mscssid=61F44DC9C4364AE397BB8D2975307309&SearchIn=P...

The 4-cell has a 41-wh capacity and the 3-cell 31-wh so all things being equal the 4 cell ought to have about a 33% longer runtime. Good luck. Despite the warning in red above, this is a battery and the manual specifically says HP is OK with your upgrading this part of your hardware and it will absolutely not affect your warranty.

Hello@Wwdig,

Welcome to the HP Forums!

I have read your post and understand that you need assistance in finding the right battery upgrade for the PC. I will definitely help you.

If the battery on the PC is an internal battery, then you will not be able to find an upgrade.

However, if its ab external battery, then I request you to contact HP Store online using the link below and you should be able to find the right upgrade/accessory.
