OMEN 16.1 inch Gaming Laptop PC 16-b1000 (4Z7T9AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

Hello!

I'm looking forward to buying an external monitor for my Omen 16-b1000.

There are multiple video ports available on the laptop: HDMI, Mini DisplayPort, and Type-C with Display Port capabilities.

I want to connect the monitor to the port, that will have both abilities: FreeSync (G-Sync in this case), and connectivity right to the discrete GPU, to eliminate additional latency.

So, HDMI is no-go, because Nvidia doesn't support FreeSync by it.

How can I know, which Display Port traced straight to the dGPU: miniDP or Type-C one?

On my HP Omen machine, the miniDP port is connected to the đeicated video card.

Hello, @Banhien !

Thank you for this tip, I never knew it was there.

Looks like both HDMI and MiniDP are connected to the NVIDIA GPU.

But how can I check if Type-C is connected to the GPU too? I don't have a proper cable at the moment.
