Hello there :generic:

In brief about the story of my purchase and after about the current situation.

Puchased a year ago when the laptop just came out in the market.

Arrived with some manufacturing faults on the hinges and some coil whine sound, sounded like it was about to crack. Sent back within 2 days of receiving and got a new one. The change process took approx  3.5 weeks as there was no one to answer my calls, public holidays began right after I sent the faulty one for exchange...

Now about the new product:

Same problem with hinges. Compared to old laptop, the new one is impossible to open with one hand right from the begining. My guess was that hinges were screwed so tight that the screen was not opening smoothly without the help of second hand by hold down the keyboard part... After the frustration with changing the product first time, I just ignored that small thing as well as the coil whine sound which persists on this unit as well, and decided to use this unit as it is.

Now the hinge is making similiar noise when bending the screen to tablet mode, and it has become more intense comared to when I got the laptop. It is like a sound of friction between two metals, seems like it should be oiled to make the movement smoothers.

I would ignore it further if it didn't make crackling sound.  Here we begin now

1)

Laptop condition:  Perfect (never droped, no scratch, no dents, always in its leather case when not used, turned off when not used)

Remarks: The color came off yesterday from the screw, left speaker side. I never touched it with a screw driver... color just peeled off.

2)

Hinge problem - I don't know what is going on under that hinge cover but something is wrong.

First time 2/20/2019: Laptop was running > I have turned it into "V "shape to watch a movie > After a while i tried to increase the volume through side buttons > The system didn't respond to my commands > Left it for a while to see if it was a system lagg > Tried again to increase volume and no response > Tried to bring the latop to normal stand > very strong crackling sound on spot.

Remarks: I know how it sounds when a fully loaded laptop fan touches the walls while you turn the laptop, this was not a normal sounds, more like something is broken or something broke and that part went into the turning fan.

Second time 2/21/2019, Laptop was on the table > Screen half way open > Turned it on and wanted to adjust the screen position to normal > Crackling sound right on spot, again from the same place.

Remarks: i tried to play around, bending the screen to 360x to tablet mode while holding vertically and horizontaly, to check if the sound will repeat, it didn't.

3)

Screen Flickering on Internet Explorer Edge when watchin Youtube - pausing and playing the video while fullscreen, flickering stops only when i close the browser and open it again.  I have seen this problem on the first unit that was exchanged. The new unit has it as well but I decided to use it further as now I know how to avoid it.

I am sure the problem is not in the speakers, I did some speaker checkup in the system, status was OK.

System Diagnostic checkup with "HP Assistant" - no issues found

Al possible system/BIOS drivers up to date, checked with "HP Assistance" and "Windows Updates" - latest check 2/21/2019.

Performed "Hardware and Device" Troubleshooting (screenshots attached) - whatever was wrong it must have been fixed... maybe.

Tried to run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics -  Program doesn't load (screenshots attached) I waited for around 40 minutes at least see the menue options, no change, it just keeps loading.

Tried the steps as explained in this topic, still doesn't load. Uninstalled/Re-installed no result.

I still got 1 year and 11 months of Care Pack and I don't want to wait till the very last month to report a latop that breaks down slowly :Crying:

Please suggest what to do

Purchased from Swiss, I am in UK right now

Do I have a chance to ship it to you for complete Hardware checkup from A to Z under warranty coverage?

Thanks in advance,

Tigran
