Product: HP 14-dk1000 Laptop PC (8VZ00AV)

I was told that the HP USB-C G5 Essential Dock would work with my HP 14-dl1000 Laptop running Windows 10, however when I hooked it up the dock will only function as a hub. It will not turn the laptop off and on or charge the laptop. I have downloaded and installed drivers from the website but that has not helped. Is this dock really compatible or am I missing something in the installation?
