How do I find out which docks work with which laptops?

Does the 50h98aa docking station work with the 641g6ua laptop?

I hate that HP does not make this info easy to find.

Yes the universal USB-C dock is literally that. Works to provide external video through the HDMI port with any laptop (HP or otherwise) equipped with even a basic (data only) USB-C port, which is what the laptop has.

Thanks for responding but your answer is exactly opposite of the "Official" HP response.

Thank you for your question! The HP 17-cn2063CL will not be compatible with HP Hubs or Docks, as the USB-C ports on this laptop cannot be used for an external display or charging of the laptop.

They are not entirely correct. The dock has a chip inside (DisplayLink) that will allow external video from even a data only usb-C port. They are correct that the USB-C port will not allow charging of the battery. Good luck.
