Below is the link to the parts list for your notebook:
It comes with a 500 GB 2.5" mechanical hard drive and a motherboard with an AMD-A4 processor.
The 15-db0xxx notebooks that come with AMD 'E' and 'A' series processors that only came with 2.5" drives have no M2 slot at all and if they did, the slot only would have supported M.2 SATA SSD's not NVMe.
Only the 15-db0xxx notebooks with the AMD Ryzen series processors have M.2 slots that support both M.2 NVMe and SATA SSDs.
Below is an eBay listing of your notebook's motherboard part number from the above parts list.

As you can see, there is no M.2 SSD slot.
The M.2 slot is missing and would have been located on the bottom right corner of the photograph.

That's interesting the notebook has the M.2 slot when it only came with the 2.5" drive.
Unfortunately, NVMe SSDs will not work.
You will need a M.2 SATA SSD like this:

I don't see a M.2 slot in any of your screenshots.
I see the circuitry for one like in the motherboard picture I gave you, but no actual slot.
This is what the motherboard would look like that has a M.2 slot:
There is a black plastic enclosure around the circuitry.

You can always replace the 500 GB 2.5" mechanical hard drive with a 500 GB SSD:

See this video for how to disconnect the battery:

Officially the notebook only supports 1 x 8 GB of memory (Chapter 1, page 2 of the service manual), but I have read posts where folks have installed a 16 GB memory chip in the single slot and reported that it worked fine.
Maintenance and Service Guide HP 15 Laptop PC
You can run this command to see if the notebook would support a single 16 GB memory chip in the slot.
If the report returns a 32 GB amount, then a 16 GB memory chip should work.
1. In the search box, search for cmd and click Run as administrator.
This will open the command prompt.
2. Once command prompt is opened, type wmic memphysical get maxcapacityEx and press the enter key.
There, it will show the maximum RAM capacity your PC's motherboard can support.
The capacity is shown as Kilobytes, so you have to convert it to Gigabytes by dividing the number provided in the report by 1,048,576.
