HP OMEN 15t dc100
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Im having some really annoying issues with gaming on this brand spanking new laptop. i got it for christmas. it was ordered directly from HP and ive only had it for 3 days. the only game ive played on it is league of legends. now let me explain to you the confusion of all of this.

mid way in a game, every time i play, the game shuts down and i get an "error_directx" message. i was recommended to update my drivers to fix the issue.

when my computer is normal and im not playing league, it only shows that im using one driver, The Intel UHD Graphics 630 driver.

Whenever my game crashes, i go to look at my drivers, and all of a sudden there is a second one, a NVIDIA one. when i click on the nvidia driver, the computer immediately bluescreens, giving me a "DRIVER_SUPPORT" something-or-other message at the bottom. when it restarts after that, the nvidia driver has dissapeared from my "display adapters" section, and the game works just fine.

this lead me to believe the nvidia driver is whats causing the issues, because when its gone, the game works fine.

i thought maybe the driver wasn't updated, or that it was faulty, so i tried to go into "geforce experience" default app on the laptop and try to update the driver to see if that was the issue. alas, the app told me it couldn't detect a nvidia driver on my laptop, although it comes with a nvidia geforce gtx driver? i'm confused as hell. i don't know what i'm losing by disabling this driver but it causes my game issues. and bluescreens. mind you this is a brand new laptop and its a little frustrating that i had to deal with this one day into owning it. i don't know what to do or if disabling the driver will permanently fix the issue. any ideas or help would be nice. I've never had this issue with league on any other laptop and ive tried installing the new version of directx to see if that was the culprit but it didnt help, i dont think it has anything to do with directx at all.

im legit thinking about returning this computer. its ridiculous the amount of time ive spent trying to fix the issues that came straight out of the manufacturer. ive never had these types of issues on a laptop before, none the less a brand new one. Ive done a full restore, deleting everything on it and starting fresh from the beginning, and now its saying it cant detend my graphic card at all, that I don't have nvidia although its what this laptop came with. im thinking bad installation? I don't know how to go about this. im not tech savvy and don't want to keep downloading and restarting things, im afraid ill mess something up. at this point I don't know who to call or what to do.

**editedThis is for everyone thinking of buying anything from hp: DO NOT. I’ve been trying to get support on this issue and have been pawned off to about 4 different numbers with support cases that won’t give me a case number, then direct me to someone else who tells me I need to call someone else. They won’t fix their faulty products and are probably just throwing me around until my warranty is over and can’t do anything anymore. I’ve never had such issues with tech support and a laptop before. If the product worked that would be one thing but god forbid you receive anything that’s faulty, because you’re **bleep**ed if you do. At this point I’m just saying go to any other manufacturer for your product.
