Hello everyone,
Suddenly, my detachable travel keyboard for my HP Elite X2 G4 has stopped working. It blinks a white light from the caps lock key every 10 seconds. Unfortunately, none of the keys on the keyboard respond, but it still recognizes when I fold it in front of the screen, putting the PC to sleep.
I’ve tried holding the power button for more than 30 seconds, but that didn’t resolve the issue. Additionally, I’m unable to access the BIOS during boot-up because the problem lies specifically with the keyboard.
USB keyboards and mice work without any issues.
Unfortunately, I don’t have access to another travel keyboard to test whether it would function properly. Considering their cost, I’d like to explore other solutions first.
Any suggestions or troubleshooting steps would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!

Have you tried uninstalling the keyboard driver and then right clicking and clicking on scan for hardware changes in the Device Manager?
Shut down Windows and restart your tablet. Use the onscreen keyboard to log into Windows.
The operating system should install the appropriate driver for the collaboration keyboard..

It is interesting that your display language is Spanish, but that is not a problem for me.
Those were the correct devices to remove.
If you right click the driver for keyboard HID and select properties, what does it show in the General tab?
Does the keyboard also not work in wireless mode?
Have you inspected the keyboard connector on the bottom of the tablet?
Have you used the HP PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI utility to test the keyboard while it is connected?
I have asked for HP Subject Matter Expert assistance with the issue.
Yours is not a common issue, but I notice I don't see any thread reporting the same issue with a solution.

Hi Erico, I've run the diagnosys and it did not solve the issue (but helped with other minor issues with the PC, thank you).
My system is in portuguese, I am brazilian 🙂
I have inspected the connectors, they all seen fine and no signs of heavy usage.
Non-HP keyboards with bluetooth function do work, as well as others connected through USB. The problem is only with the Collaboration HP Keyboard that is bundled with the tablet. From one say to the other stopped working (no calls or any external damage).
I also know that the keyboard is not dead because it light's up and the Caps Lock blinks every 10 sec....but no keys or the mouse pad is working.

The properties dialogs of each of those instances say that the drivers are operating normally.
That would lead me to suspect the fault is with the keyboard.
Does the keyboard not work while it is connected?
