Like many others, I have now experienced a hinge failure in my Envy x360 notebook through normal usage. A screw has fallen out, resulting in separation of the screen at that corner. I'm not able to close the notebook properly. I am out of warranty and am hoping but not expecting that HP will repair the damage caused by a DESIGN FLAW that clearly should have been RECALLED and not ignored. HP, please respond.

If HP does not take reasonable steps to make this right, I would suggest that anyone having this problem make known by review or other means that there is a MAJOR problem with the x360 hinge. I see no reason to expect that later models would have better performance, and people should be warned.

Welcome to the HP support community.

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).

If you are unfamiliar with how the Community's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.

Thank you for visiting the HP Support Community.

Thanks so much, Sandytechy20. I’m in conversation with support and will post when the issue is resolved.

Quick update: I have been informed that the repair request has not yet been approved. There is a part shortage (I wonder why that would be?) and  in-warranty repair requests take precedence. I will update further when I hear more, in case it may help someone else. I’m sure I’m not the only one in this situation.
