I need an urgent solution from HP. I recently bought a SAMSUNG Poratable SDD T5 500GB. I installed a fresh linux on it. But whenever I try to boot it from HP bios, I cannot find it in the boot manager. Take me very seriously as I have repeated with no. of pen drives and am successful with booting. It fails when it comes to this SDD. The SDD is perfectly fine as I have tested booting on the same OS in ASUS laptops. ' I am seriously angry with HP not letting other drives being detected on the laptops. The Asus laptop despite cheaper, of lower processing power and 2 years older than this HP laptop is able to detect my SDD. I need a solution or else I'm never buying or letting any of my friend buy an HP product in future. I'll better of with Dell or Asus who alteast provide me a freedom to boot using any external drive nor matter what size, type or company.

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).
If you are unfamiliar with how the Forum's private message capability works, you can learn about that here.
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forum.
