Hi there,
After updating the Fall Creators Update yesterday, the Windows Hello login fails to work every time my laptop resumes from sleep/hibernation. At the same time, when I load up the webcam separately using the camera app, I noticed that the IR lights are flashing as if it was trying to authentic through Windows Hello.
It returns to function normally after a reboot but continues to b behave the same when I put the laptop to sleep. Anyone else noticed this issue?

I had the same issue with my camera and windows hello after installing the fall creators update. I posted the following fix that worked for me on the Windows Community forum. No one else has confirmed that this fix worked for their spectre x360 though.
Here is what I did:
Open Device Manager (you can use the search box)
Find "Imaging Devices" and click on the drop down arrow.
Right click on the "HP TrueVision FHD RGB-IR" device.
My driver was originally at version 3.6.8.0, which the current version listed on HP's support website.
Click "Update Driver" and the driver should update to 3.6.8.1 (the driver date still says 6/2/17, and the date is older than the date for 3.6.8.0 listed on the HP support website...go figure. These kind of driver update issue is one of OSX major advantages over Windows). Allow windows to search automatically for an updated driver.
Anyways after I updated the driver to 3.6.8.1, it seems to work perfect so far whether starting from a complete shutdown, restart, or sleep mode.
Let me know if this works for you other HP spectre x360 owners.

Hello Rayzie:
I am having problems with Windows Hello too after installing Fall Creators Update. Hopefully someone will post a solution soon. Here's a link to my post:

Thanks for the feedback e-roq777.
Will follow the thread to see if there is a definite fix for it.

It's a shame! Everything else seems to work properly!

I hear ya. I was really looking forward to working with the Fall Creators Update. It has some nice features. But I like my Windows Hello more so I'll wait until there's a fix before I install it again. Hopefully soon. Until then, I'll keep my eyes peeled for a fix. 🙂

I just had a a good / odd thing happen. I had 1703 installed. All was working fine. Windows Hello was working. Then from Windows Update, a major update installed upgrading me to Version 1709 OS Build 16299.19. My Windows Hello still works thank goodness. I think when I did a fresh install the build was 16299.15. This update took me to 16299.19. So, maybe try that to see if it works. Good luck. 🙂

Lucky you! I usually mess things up with a fresh install. The 16299.15 build is the preview...perhaps the Windows Hello issue might have been rectified and MS has forgotten to register it into the changelog
Mine is still on 150xx
I saw an official advice from a Microsoft rep for those facing the problem to rollback...
The Fall Creators Update has automatically landed again into my system and I have a mine waiting every time I need to restart....
