Hi,
Open windows Control Panel, open Programs and Features, right click the entry for HP SimplePass and select Uninstall.
When this has completed, restart the notebook.
When windows has reloaded, download the version of HP SimplePass on the following link and save it to your Downloads folder.
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp71501-72000/sp71729.exe
When the download has completed, open your Downloads folder, right click the SimplePass installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation.
Again, when this has completed, restart the notebook.
When windows has reloaded, open windows Control Panel and in the top right, next to View by: select 'Large Icons'. From the new layout, select the HP SimplePass entry and see if you can set up your fingerprint log-on.

Hi DavidPK,
Thank you very much for helping me and I really appreciate it. Now it is working...!!!
But it seems there is another problem. that is sensor is blinking sometimes without any reason. even i didn't touch it, it makes blinking for few seconds or for few minutes. And after few moments it stops blinking. Is that a problem?Any suggestion please?
Thanks again for helping me...!!!
regards,
Dil1

I have the same problem with my Folio 9470M. I have follow these instruction and the Validity sensor does not show up in Simple pass. Device manager shows the validity sensor VF5491 is working OK and has driver 4.5.133.0.
The sensor was working fine with Windows 8.1.
Any Ideas?
