HP 15 f233mw RAM Upgrade Revisited

So I have looked into RAM upgrades myself and a really confused by all I have seen here and elsewhere like the Intel site. It has been mentioned that the f233mw does not support 8gb if it has a Celeron processors in it; links have been provided to the manual which seems to indicate that but in a sort of confusing way. Immediately after the statement in the manual, there's a small table of RAM configurations which includes 8gb in either 1 or 2 sticks and there is no indication of whether this applies to only the Core i3 or if all CPU configs are supported (see blow):

Two SODIMM non-customer-accessible/upgradable memory module slots (Core i3 processors)
DDR3L-1600 MHz dual channel support (DDR3L-1600 dual channel support)
One SODIMM non-customer-accessible/upgradable memory module slot (Pentium, Celeron processors)
DDR3L-1333 MHz dual channel support (DDR3L-1600 downgraded to DDR3L-1333)
Supports up to 4 GB max system memory (DDR3L-1600 MHz module)
Supports the following system RAM conƭgurations
● 8192 MB (8192 MB×1 or 4096 MB×2)
● 6144 MB (4096 MB×1 + 2048 MB×1)
● 4096 MB (4096 MB×1 or 2048 MB×2)
● 2048 MB (2048 MB×1)

Even the spare parts section for this system refers only to 4gb sticks

Then when one visits the Intel site and checks the Celeron N3050 and N3060 processors (I have a N3060), we find that BOTH support up to 8gb of system RAM DDR3L-1600:

So my question is: which is it? Is the 8gb supported or not? If not, per Intel, it doesn't appear to be because of the processor so it would need to be a limitation of the systemboard and/or BIOS.

Can anyone provide a definitive answer?

Hi:

Even though the Intel specs for the processor indicate that it supports 8 GB of memory, the only thing I can think of is that HP has done something to that model series that has prevented 8 GB of memory from working in the single memory slot.

I cannot find one post on this forum where anyone has successfully upgrade the PC from 4 GB to 8 GB which leads me to believe the 4 GB max memory limit in the service manual for the Pentium and Celeron processors is correct.

Agreed....which really makes me scratch my head since all indicators point to a big "yes" on the 8gb. I just am not sure why HP would do that.
