Hello vrdecker,

 

Looks like it's the fan:

Open up the laptop using instructions from pages 53-54 of your computer's Maintenance and Service Guide and clean out the fans to the best of your ability - recommended that you use compressed air. 

 

If you think that something is loose on the fan or the noise continues with the same degree of intensity, it's probably time for a fan replacement.
