hey, I had an issue of rapide battery drain. As I went to the HP service centre, they adviced me to update the BIOS and then the issue will be fine. I did so, but then I had serious issue of very slow battery charging. Now it takes around 1.5 hrs for 10% charge. Could you guys please give a solution for this problem? I hope to get a reply soon

Welcome to the HP Forums!
This is a wonderful place to converse with the community, get assistance and find tips.
I reviewed your post and understand that the battery is getting charged slowly.
I'll be glad to help you 🙂
In order that I may provide you with an accurate solution, I will need a few more details.
- When was the last time the computer was working fine?
- Are you using the original charger which came with the computer?
- Have you tried with a higher capacity charger?
- Have you made any software or hardware changes on the computer?
- Have you performed any troubleshooting steps before posting?
While you respond to that, I recommend you follow the below steps and check whether the issue is resolved.
Reinstalled Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery under device manager.
Here is how you do it.
Step 1: Click the Windows “Start” button and right-click “Computer.”
Step 2: Click “Manage,” then “Device Manager.”
Step 3: Click the “Batteries” section. A list of devices will appear.
Step 4: Right-click the “Microsoft ACPI-Compliant Control Method Battery” device and click “Uninstall.”
Step 5: Click the “Action” menu item and “Scan for Hardware Changes” to reinstall the driver.
Restart the computer and the issue should be fixed.
If you continue facing the issue, I recommend you follow the steps in the below article and check whether the issue is resolved.

hi @The_Fossette , thank you for your reply. I had already tried to uninstall the microsoft ACPI driver and restart the system. But this thing didnot work. Initially I had an issue of rapid discharge of battery then I went to the HP service centre, the guys in the service centre recomended me to update the BIOS version though I was having an outdated one. I has been already 7 to 8 days since I had gone to them. Before I updated the BIOS, the laptop was charging fast. Yes I am using the original charger provided with this HP 15au626tx laptop. I havent tried charging the laptop with high capacity charger but tried charging with a different charger and the results are the same. I didnt make any Hardware change, I indeed made a software change, i.e. I update the BIOS from f.25 to f.48. I hope you could come up with a perfect solution for this problem @The_Fossette .
Thanks,
i hope to get a reply soon.

I downloaded the HP support and updated the drivers but it dosent seems to be the fix. And I even tried to caliberate the battery but I noticed that after 70% the battery is not charging anymore and moreover the battery is non-removable.
Could you please help me out with some other fix. And I even noticed that my laptop is not charging after the lid is closed.
Please help we with a fix. I would be glad enough.

Are you using an HP genuine adapter to charge your PC?
As you mentioned the issue still persists after trying out the steps.
When your PC is plugged in, you might see a status message that says your PC is charging slowly or discharging when you hover over or select the Battery icon on the taskbar. This might happen if you’re using a charger that didn’t come with your device. To speed up charging, use the charger and cable that came with your device.
Please find the possible causes for charging issues.
- The charger isn’t compatible with your PC.
Note
Some USB chargers, such as micro USB and USB-C chargers, use a proprietary charger. Therefore, your PC might only be able to use a charger from your PC manufacturer.
- The charger isn’t powerful enough to charge your PC.
- The charger isn’t connected to the charging port on your PC.
- The charging cable doesn’t meet the power requirements for the charger or PC.
Solutions to try:
- Use the charger and cable that came with your PC.
- Make sure you're connecting your charger to the charging port on your PC.
- To speed up charging, charge your PC while it’s asleep or turned off.
Lastly, try running a system diagnostics test on your PC and check if the hardware components on your PC are functioning correctly.

Did you try running a battery test on your PC? Do you get any errors after running a battery test?
As you mentioned the issue still persists after trying out the steps.
