I purchased an HP 15t last year in August for my wife's work. The laptop sees very little use (just a few weeks total in the whole of last year) and treated with care. Today my wife closed the case and one of the hinges cracked away from the screen case, or something like that. Upon inspection, this appears to be caused by a very stiff hinge and rather shoddy construction quality. This leads me to suspect that many buyers must have experienced a similar break.
I am very dissatisfied with the quality of this product. My warranty is undoubtedly expired but I would like to hear from the community and from HP about this issue. What can I do? It gets so little use, it is practically new. The tech on the inside is not out of date and we would like to continue to use it. Is $800 dollars down the toilet because of a hinge? We do not have the resources to pay to fix it or buy a replacement. Unacceptable, really.
