3 months and counting. I'm thinking about using my Garanty Chard for this. No more HP at home again.

I followed your instructions exactly to disable the signature and when I select the inf file on the driver update I get the following message that the system cannot find the file specified.  I get the same message when I try to update using DISM.  I cannot tell which file it isn't finding.

where have you downloaded the driver? Is it in the PC or in an external device ?

From the Device Manager you need to choose the .inf file from the Disk file chooser window. You can access it by clicking over "Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer", and selecting "Have disk".

Also check if you've got an amd64 folder under the root folder.

It's in my Download folder.  I downloaded the cab file from Microsoft and saved it in the Download folder.  I then extracted the files into the same folder.  I selected the accelerometer.inf file manually in the driver update window and it confirmed that the driver didn't have a digital signature in a warning.  I ignored the warning and clicked Next anyway to install it.  Then I get this error message.  I also tried running the cab file in DISM using an accelerated command prompt and got the same message.  I looked inside the inf file with Notepad and it listed the following files in the source file section: accelerometer.sys; hpdskflt.sys; hpservice.exe; accelerometerdll.dll; and HPmdpcoInst.dll.  When I looked inside the cab file all the files were there except for hpservice.exe and accelerometerdll.dll.  Perhaps when I run the installation it is looking for those 2 missing files that should be in the cab?

You need to write down the error message as the image is still not approved, so we can't see it.

How did you disable the signature verification? Via Advanced Boot selected the seventh option?

Yes, I did that.  But -I do not have an amd64 folder under the root folder.  This update issue started only after the Windows Creater 1703 upgrade installed the other day.  Perhaps the new driver has to be fixed by HP or Microsoft and then they need to re-release it.   Device Manager says the old driver 6.0.19.1 is the latest driver for the device.  I just hate seeing update errors.

"Windows encountered a problem installing the drivers for your device.  Windows found drivers for your device but encountered an error while attempting to install them.  The system cannot find the file specified."

Yes, I selected seventh option on Advanced Boot.
