I tried to move my laptop (HP ENVY x360 m6 Convertible) a few minutes ago and I noticed the left hinge appears to have given way. My laptop still function but I can't close it as the screen from the hinged part will gap open. I bought the laptop May 2017 and I am out of warranty (since May 2018) for about 6 months.
I noticed many people also have this "hinge issue". I am wondering why HP hasn't tried to fix this recurring problem. The essence of customers voicing out their concerns is for the companies to look into the problem and resolve the same. However, it appears, HP isn't interested.
Meanwhile, how do I go about repairing this? I am preparing for my semester exam and may not be able to part with it until the first week in December 2018.

I have brought your issue to the attention of an appropriate team within HP. They will likely request information from you in order to look up your case details or product serial number. Please look for a private message from an identified HP contact. Additionally, keep in mind not to publicly post personal information (serial numbers and case details).
