HP ENVY x360 - 13m-ag0001dx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

The hinge has given out on my HP Envy x360, with no drops/damages and purely naturally started happening on its own. I can't even fold the laptop because the hinge prevents the lid from doing so. After some research I found that this is a common design flaw in many envy laptops. I am no longer in warranty but it is completely frustrating that a $1K+ laptop I purchased in 2019 is this critically flawed and I have no hardware support for it.

Here are few of the other complaints I have seen from previous threads:

Hi,

How was this resolved?

My laptop screen is fully intact but both hinges have gave way, with 2 tiny screws falling out, one from each side. This is disappointing from a £1000 laptop bought just last year.

I am still waiting for a solution and it has been over a month since my previous post. Please can a member of the HP team suggest a solution? The images are of my Envy which I cannot use in its current state as both hinges have failed.

I have the same problem just happened to my laptop last night and i have never dropped it since it's always on my desk.

I have had it for less than a year and i love this laptop but just realizing this is a common issue and I'm so disappointed.
How can i get this resolved?

I have the same problem! With the hinges actually cause the screen to be pried away from the casing causing the screen to crack! Only had this laptop for one year and love the laptop but really dissapointed with this issue. Please can you send support my way. Thanks.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,
I understand your HP notebook hinge is separating from the unit, to fix this issue your computer needs to be repaired.

I have the same issue. I have only had my laptop for a little over a year and the hinge broke through no fault of my own. This was a very expensive purchase for me so I make sure to use my laptop with extreme care, I have never dropped it and I don't even leave the house with my laptop because I didn't want anything to happen to it. I tried to speak with hp support but they wouldn't do anything for me because it is out of warranty. This is a HP design flaw and I shouldn't have to put out hundreds of more dollars for repairs after I already spent so much with the original purchase because I thought this computer would last a long time. If HP is not able to resolve this, I will unfortunately be forced to never purchase another HP product again.

This exact thing happened to me this evening as well. I have never dropped or damaged the laptop in any way shape or form. I can't believe so many people are having this issue. This is a serious design flaw for a brand new computer.
