I noticed when I get up from a chair where I was sitting with my Envy 15t k000, it goes down as everybody else's latop here. So I used a beach towel to cover the chair. The problem was gone.So HP can start sending beach towels (100% cotton) to the customers, which is going to be much cheaper than paying for the laptop roundtrip shipping. Joking aside, HP's service model seems inacceptable to me.

I have an HP 355 G2 which I bought @ June 2015 and it's also shutting down after giving me a static shock. Some days it's once, this morning it's done it 4 times. If I get up from my machine and walk around then come back and touch it, it powers off imediately, sometimes it reboots other times the kernel goes into panic.
It's extremely frustrating, it' smessing with my OS and I'm pretty sure it's not safe!
What can I do?

I am currently having the problem and have been for years. I have thought nothing of it but it is now interfereing with my work and actually physically harming me on occasion with the magnitude of the shocks. Support refuses to communicate with me only offering the option of a $400 round trip laptop shipment for repair or merely hanging up during a call transfer. I am wondering if there is any other options available.
