HP ProBook 440 G7
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

I have an issue with my new ProBook 440 G7. I've installed new BIOS update and after that my webcam stopped working.

It's listed in device manager as 'USB Boot'. I've tried all drivers, each and every advice I could find, but couldn't resolve the issue.

In device manager hardware ids: USB\VID_0BDA&PID_5846. Please help, I need it for work, can't believe that a new laptop has such a failure

 Thanks in advance.

Hi, have you tried the solution described in a similar question?

Hi, thank you for your reply, I did somehow get to that update tool, but when I ran it there was a message: Status: RT Camera Connected, and a red icon N/A.

I've also contacted HP support, they sent me some PDF document that included that tool as an attachment and still the same message.

They told me to send the laptop for servicing, but currently I'm not able to do that because of work.

I hope the note will be fixed in the future, when it will be possible to send it to the service center, it's a shame that this happened from the update, from the update - officially provided by the manufacturer ":("
