HP Spectre x360 15
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have a brand new, less than two week old, Spectre x360 15 and the left side of the base has swollen and deformed  such that you can get a finger nail into the gap and the display does not sit flat when folded. Is this a swollen battery issue (which HP say it is not) or something else? I'm feeling terribly deflated myself after spending so much on a laptop. After buying and installing MS Office Pro including Project and Visio for my job I'm not particularly happy as I think I'll now have to return.

Aftet contacting the HP helpdesk it has been confirmed it is a swollen battery which HP will replace. HP need to update their battery advisory to include this model.

just noticed this thread:

it appears that it is a battery issue althought the EMEA Battery Program Escalations team say that it is not.
