I would not recommend changing the cooling profile in this laptop to passive. The fans as it is are pretty crap, well the lack of fans would probably be the issue. The CPU fan is good and keeps core temps low but the case doesn't have a fan to help vent air as far as I am aware, this results in ridiculous case temps of up to 75 degree's.
High temps are really really bad for your computer and if you want to make it last, keep the temps as low as possible.

I would like to try the fix of turning on Passive Cooling as opposed to Active Cooling, but I cannot find the feature. Where should I look? I am running Windows 10 on Spectre 360 and its a week old.

Agree with earlier post re background processes. Turning off all the Realtek drivers has resulted in a silent machine for me - even with a bunch of Chrome tabs open and doing things.
The Realtek drivers seem to support the SD card drive. I haven't got an SD to put into it so don't know if shutting them down have completely disabled it...

Hello,
I Hope there is another fix . I believe there is a problem with balance on the fan. The passive setting worked for a while but like you say . this is the cooling feature and this unit needs all the fan it can get. Passive is not the answer for the fix.
