You opened up your notebook prior to this.

Why did you not take a photo with your mobile phone?

 

You can open it again and compare the M.2  slot on the to the one you have ordered.

Why you don't answer all my questions please? I posted more posts with questions like how to open a command prompt when I installed the new ssd??? On the service manual I see only on notch on the motherboard connector so it has to fit I will take the picture from the service manual.

That's what I find in the service manual book of the HP Pavilion laptops. You see only one notch on the motherboard connector and on the rear of the motherboard connector you see the wiring continuing there where should be the second notch. So I suppose the ssd that I ordered "Samsung SM 951 512 GB (NVME) MZVPV512HDGL-00000 MZ-VPV5120 Gen 3 M.2 80 mm PCIe 3.0" should fit the motherboard connector. I will post the picture here under. Please tell me what you think about it and please answer also my other questions has you find the time it's not urgent but I like to be good prepared.

Hi Erico,
Tomorrow arived my new ssd. What I just need to know is how I open a command prompt once the new ssd is installed?? And what you suggest to do once the ssd is converted to GPT? I don't like to install the Windows 10 version on the USB flash drive. I want my version back. Can I recover from my data drive? The recovery is located there. And afterwards I put back my back-up once Windows Is installed again???

The backup you made can only be installed to the drive on which it came from.

 

Did you read my previous post? I already explained that transfering a Windows intstallation requires third party cloning or migration software, not the Windows OS. 

 

If you want your original version back, then you will have to install it from scratch. What version of Windows is it?

 

I believe that now you may be realizing why I suggested, days ago, the simple method of organizing your original 128 GB SSD and installing programs to the 1TB legacy disk.

 

It was in one of the first two pages of this thread.  The Samsung NVMe M.2   boot disk of the desktop I am typing this on is 128GB. I did not need a 256 GB or higher cap. disk to boot with.  I have lots, actually way too much, of other storage devices connected to the remaining SATA ports on this motherboard.   See the following image. Disk 4 is the M.2 boot disk. Disk 0 and 1 are SATA SSD disks.

 

 

 

The following video explains how to get to the command prompt and convert the disk to GPT with a UEFI slice.

Unfortunately that will be a no, because of the risk involved. That is why having created a usb recovery flashdrive was so important. That is why HP put an HP Recovery Media Creator utility on the hard disk.
